Ford intentionally doesn't finish this truck before it leaves the plant, leaving room for businesses to cater and adapt the Super Duty to their specific job needs. Municipal road crews, steel and industrial support operations, or contractors running service bodies, crane upfits, or flatbeds are incredibly diverse, but can use and adapt the same underpinning of a Super Duty across the board.
Butler County winters are hard on equipment and vehicles — road salt gets into everything, and a painted steel cab that looks fine in October can be showing rust by March. The Ford Super Duty's high-strength, military-grade aluminum-alloy body doesn't rust and shrugs off the dents and dings that a work truck picks up over the years. The steel frame built beneath still gives ample support a crane mount or a loaded dump body needs without flexing.

Ford's open C-channel frame and factory-installed upfitter interface modules allow a body shop or upfitter to mount a crane or a service body without reinforcing the frame first or running a custom wiring harness for every powered accessory. Additionally there are six auxiliary switches overhead that ensure you don't need additional rewiring for your add-ons.

For a municipal fleet or a contracting outfit running several trucks at once, Ford Telematics is built to change the game for fleet management. Knowing exactly where every truck is, how it's being driven, and when it's due for service is necessary to keeping up with a fleet of any size.
Butler has been a steel and manufacturing town for generations with a specialty steel plant at the heart of the economy even today. Contractors and industrial support crews working around Butler proper are often moving equipment in and out of facilities that were built decades ago, causing them to need more rugged built service cranes and less maintenance.
Evans City is a little further into the rural stretches of Butler County which changes the way the job sites look. They typically have more open ground, longer hauls between job sites, and more sustained highway driving with a loaded trailer behind. Slippery Rock has a unique university town's tighter street width that sits right up against open farmland just outside of it, and is where the GCWR diesel is in its prime.
We're capable of handling business needs across Meridian and the smaller towns across Butler County, and would love to assist our local community.

The Ford Super Duty Chassis Cab features a high-strength, military-grade aluminum-alloy cab that will not rust when exposed to harsh Butler County road salt and weather. It also resists the dents and dings common on job sites. Underneath, a high-strength steel frame provides the rigid support required for cranes, service bodies, and loaded dump beds without flexing.
The chassis cab offers two powertrain options paired with a heavy-duty 10-speed automatic transmission:
When configured as an F-550 with the 7.3L gas engine, Regular Cab, 84" CA, and 4x2 drive, the truck achieves a maximum payload rating of 12,750 lbs—which is best-in-class for Class 3–5 conventional chassis cabs. It also offers a maximum Gross Combined Weight Rating (GCWR) of 40,000 lbs with the 6.7L diesel engine and an available maximum front Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR) of 7,500 lbs on the F-550.
Ford builds the frame and electrical systems specifically for fast, reliable body installation:
Ford Telematics and Ford Data Services allow municipal road crews and private fleets to track vehicle locations, monitor driver behavior, and stay ahead of maintenance schedules, helping optimize fleet efficiency across Butler County.
